Golfers arrived at The Glen Club for the 10th annual AFISCD golf classic hoping that the rain would stay away for a beautiful day at the newly hosted course in Glenview, IL. Golfers were given a complimentary set of wireless earbuds as they checked in, before mingling with family and friends at the brunch reception. The Glen Club provided a delicious custom brunch spread including an omelet station, assorted bagels, breakfast pastries, a deli board, and a salad station.
ISCD board member and Event Co-Chair, Danny Shapiro and Matt Ables took the stage to give a welcome speech and thank the generous sponsors. Harry Matthew, board member, Danny Barnett (2018 honoree) and ISCD president, Lori Komisar, also spoke leading up to the honoree presentation for Bari, Jon & Ricky Michelon. Guests were ready to show their support in the fund-in-need and live auction where you could win a one week stay in a two-bedroom villa at the Four Seasons Residence Club Aviara in San Diego, CA!
After the uplifting lunch reception, the golfers were ready to hit the course just in time for the shotgun start. There were fun activities located at different holes around the course where guests could participate in contests such as beat the pro, blackjack, straightest drive and more to try and win awesome raffle prizes later in the night. After a long but fun afternoon, golfers competed in one last competition which was to land their shot on a floating green located in the middle of one of the courses ponds. Guests then gathered back inside the ballroom to feast on the dinner buffet including a chef carving station with beef tenderloin, grilled salmon, rice pilaf, garlic mashed potatoes, ice cream sundae station and lots more.
