The 2019 ISCD Annual Poker & Casino Night returned to the very popular Hugo’s Frog Bar & Gibsons Steakhouse for its second year in a row. It was a packed house as guests arrived on Saturday, February 23rd eager to show their support and win some awesome prizes!
Before cards were dealt guests got to mingle and enjoy the open bar courtesy of MillerCoors featuring Coors Light, Peroni, Miller Lite and more! Gibsons’ delicious appetizers, including bruschetta, caprese skewers, citrus cured faroe island salmon and seared tuna wontons, were passed around before the opening of l Gibsons dinner buffet. The buffet featured a chef carving station, double baked potatoes, pasta and salad which left guests happy and ready to get the tournament under way!
The poker tournament began after a few opening remarks from National Executive Director, Jennifer Flink and National Board President, Lori Komisar who thanked the crowd and their generous sponsors for a wonderful start to a successful event. As the poker tournament was heating up with each player hoping to win the $10,000 World Series of Poker Seat in Las Vegas the other guests enjoyed charitable gaming around the blackjack and craps tables. Between the poker prizes, silent auction, Stack The Deck raffle and casino raffle prizes, guests could go home with many great items such as Elite Island Resort trips to the Caribbean, a custom suit and shirt from Knot Standard, Chicago sports tickets and memorabilia, a Lester Lampert Watch and a trip to Las Vegas!
The ISCD would like to thank everyone that came out and made this event a huge success. The generous Fund-In-Need, led by Mike Frazin, was one of the many reasons the organization was able to raise over $100,000 for their cause! The big winner of the night though was Andrew Conroy, who took home the coveted first place poker prize!
ISCD is committed to providing ongoing financial support to the Center to empower physically disabled Israeli children from all backgrounds to participate in physical and psychological rehabilitation through sports to attain the goal of leading productive and successful lives in Israeli society.
