2019 Smart Bet Charity
Poker & Casino Night

Smart Bet tech executive’s Poker & Casino Night raised funds on Thursday, March 28th at the Chicago Cultural Center, to support Chicago non-profits CHI Tech Academy and Future Founders. Over 300 guests gathered in the beautiful Preston Bradley Hall for an evening of entertainment and lots of fun!

As guests arrived, they were greeted by a live two-piece band, an open bar courtesy of Cutwater Spirits and MillerCoors as well as delicious food from Harry Caray’s Steakhouse and Roti Mediterranean Grill. Guests also had the chance to place bids on great items in the premium silent auction including Elite Island Resort trips to the Caribbean, Chicagoland Sky Diving Experience, AceBounce Ping Pong Party, a Coors Lite Keg Grill and more!

Before the poker tournament commenced, Chris Gladwin, chairman at Emeritus and Smart Bet & CEO of Ocient, thanked the crowd and announced that they have raised over $1 Million dollars since their start. Next, Sean Smyth, SmartBet President and CEO of Pechaukucka, and Tery Howerton, board member and CEO of TechNexus, thanked the generous sponsors and the tournament was on its way for the chance at the $10,000 WSOP Seat in Las Vegas!

Throughout the evening there were many chances to take home other fantastic prizes by winning at the charitable gaming tables and testing your luck in the Stack The Deck raffle in which two winners could either win a four day / three night trip to BahaMar in the Bahamas or a trip to Las Vegas! In the end Geoff Robinson was crowned the tournament champion and took home the WSOP top prize as well as the Smart Bet Poker Tournament Trophy.

The Smart Bet tech executive’s poker tournament raises funds to support Chicago non-profits that are inspiring the next generation of tech entrepreneurs. Since 2004, we have raised over $1 million for our partner charities. Funds raised from this event will benefit two organizations – Future Founders and Chicago Tech Academy – in their work building the future of the tech industry in Chicago. It’s a fun evening that brings the tech community together for a common goal that benefits kids, businesses and more. For more information please visit: http://www.smartbet.org/
