Known for hosting cutting-edge entertainment performances, Chez Crown brought William Close and the Earth Harp Collective to Venue One North Shore on Sunday, February 19th, 2017 for their annual winter fundraiser. Over 700 guests were treated to a unique musical experience, which transformed the ballroom space into a live musical instrument; the earth harp.
The former Chicago Bulls practice arena was transformed into an alluring and harmonious space, with colorful lighting, light atmospheric smoke, and comfortable lounge areas. Upon arrival, guests enjoyed kosher-friendly bites of tuna tartar, pretzel bites, and buffalo chicken pinwheels. Projected onto the walls were photos of Arie Crown students, reminding guests of whom their contributions would benefit. Inside the main ballroom, each wall was lined with delicious buffet selections, including pastrami, crispy chicken with sriracha aioli, and lamb tacos.
William Close and the Earth Harp Collection then took to the stage and left everyone amazed. The Strings of the Earth Harp extended over the audience, fully immersing guests in the sounds of the performance. Close and his collective performed a variety of well-known songs and traditional Jewish music. The evening concluded with a dessert reception in the main room, as guests raved about another fantastic experience at Chez Crown.
