It was another amazing night of elegance at the 6th annual ‘A Night In Hollywood’ event at the newly hosted venue, Builders BLDG at Prime & Provisions. The event was presented by Erie-LaSalle Body shop’s Wheels In Motion Foundation and benefited not only Gilda’s Club Chicago but also Teach For America. Everyone was invited to walk the red carpet and get their picture taken by the event paparazzi, next to cutouts of famous celebrities across generations, before kicking off the evening. Over 300 guests enjoyed passed appetizers, a full Prime & Provisions dinner buffet and specialty cocktails from the open bar donated by Gage Hospitality Group and MillerCoors.
To kick off the evening Bob Gottfred, owner of Erie-LaSalle Body Shop, welcomed all guests and thanked the sponsors and committee members. Next LauraJane Hyde, CEO of Gilda’s Club Chicago, said a few touching words before she invited Aneesh Sohoni and Jason Mueller from Teach For America up on stage to share their gratitude for being apart of this amazing event. They all got the crowd excited before the live auction which showcased a trip to Miami and Baha Mar in the Bahamas and the paddle raise which helped raise a lot of money! Guests also got to bid on over 50 items in the silent auction, including designer sunglasses, sports tickets and memorabilia, wine baskets and amazing trips all over the world!
The energy was high all night with the popular 70’s tribute band, The Breakfast Club, performing live music for guests to dance the night away. Overall the event was a huge success with everyone leaving happy knowing they supported two amazing causes that night.
Gilda’s Club Chicago is a place where men, women and children whose lives have been impacted by cancer, as well as their families and friends, can feel they are part of a welcoming community of support. The Wellness Community and Gilda’s Club Worldwide joined forces in 2009 to become the Cancer Support Community. By helping to complete the cancer care plan, CSC optimizes patient care by providing essential, but often overlooked, services including support groups, counseling, education and healthy lifestyle programs. Today, CSC provides the highest quality emotional and social support through a network of more than 50 local affiliates, 100 satellite locations and online.
Children growing up in disenfranchised communities lack access to resources and opportunities and attend schools that are not equipped to meet all their needs. This is known as educational inequity. Teach For America is a diverse network of leaders who confront educational inequity by teaching for at least two years and then working with unwavering commitment from every sector of society to create a nation free from this injustice. As educators, advocates, entrepreneurs, policymakers, and community members, we fight for the aspirations of students and families.

Wheels In Motion Foundation was founded by Robert (Bob) Gottfred along with his two sons (Jim & Jay) and daughter (Jill) who wanted to make a difference in the community. The Gottfred family decided that donating personal funds to great causes was just not enough and that they had the ability to do more by reaching out to their network of generous family, friends and business associates to attend events that would positively multiply the amount of funds raised. The Foundation’s mission is to execute a large and electrifying annual event that creates community awareness and raises as much funds as possible for two remarkable nonprofit organizations, Gilda’s Club Chicago and Teach For America. Each of these two astounding nonprofits positively influence our community on a daily basis and are near and dear to the Gottfred family and their friends.
