Over 450 guests were eager to arrive to Galleria Marchetti for Chicago Gateway Green’s annual Gaming for Green Poker and Casino Night with sunny skies and beautiful temperatures creating a perfect evening. The presenting sponsor, Mercedes-Benz of Chicago, had two gorgeous new cars on display in the outdoor courtyard that guests enjoyed viewing while enjoying live music, complimentary COHIBA cigars, and small bites from top chefs of STK, Bar Roma, Harry Caray’s and Real Ubran BBQ. On top of the small bites, guests were able to enjoy the dinner buffet which featured many mouthwatering options including a full antipasto spread, coconut crusted shrimp, fusilli alla vodka, assorted pizzas and much more. Guests also enjoyed complimentary cocktails provided by Cutwater Spirits and select beer provided by MillerCoors.
Tony Abruscato, Executive Director of Gateway Green, started the live program off by thanking the event sponsors and introducing Channel 5’s Meteorologist, Kalee Dionee. Before the poker tournament officially began, the room ignited with excitement over the Live Auction. The winner took home a 4-day / 3-night stay at Baha Mar in the Bahamas with travel provided by United Airlines!
As the poker tournament commenced, the room was energetic with over 200 poker players trying to win the $10,000 seat at the WSOP in Las Vegas as hundreds of other guests playing blackjack, roulette and craps hoping to win one of the amazing raffle prizes. Many guests showed their support by trying to outbid their neighbor for one of the many silent auction packages which featured jewelry, fitness packages, Chicago Staycation packages and Elite Island Resort trips to the Caribbean which were highly sought after!
The evening wrapped up as guests enjoyed late night food while relaxing in the lounges provided by Roy’s Furniture as others eagerly turned in their casino chips for raffle tickets.
