Ignite’s ‘A Full House for Youth’ Poker & Casino Night

Ignite held their second annual Poker and Casino Night, ‘A Full House for Youth’, at Hugo’s Frog Bar & Gibsons Steakhouse on Thursday, September 26. Over 200 eager guests arrived in high spirits ready for a fun-filled evening while there to support a great cause. As guests arrived, they were able to enjoy drinks from the open bar courtesy of MillerCoors and Heaven Hill and snack on passed appetizers including mini crab cakes, lamb chops, tuna wontons and more!

The poker tournament was kicked off by Ignite’s CEO, Jeri Lynch Linas who thanked the sponsors and everyone who came out to support their mission. After the welcoming remarks, the cards were dealt and the poker tournament officially began. The poker tournament was not the only activity going on as both sides of the venue had guests surrounding the blackjack, craps and roulette tables all night. They had the chance to win awesome raffle prizes including liquor baskets, theatre tickets, restaurant gift cards and more! The silent auction also had amazing items including two roundtrip United airline tickets, chef tasting packages, wine baskets and more! As the night continued guests were able to indulge on an amazing Gibsons dinner buffet with an artisanal cheese and charcuterie display, fried calamari, herb roasted turkey breast and beef tenderloin.

There were many chances to take home an awesome prize and the Stack-The-Deck raffle sold out quickly as one lucky winner walked away with two roundtrip airline tickets on United to Mexico, Hawaii or Europe! Between the amazing food, beverages, prizes and energy in the room it was a night to remember, especially for the winner of the poker tournament! Jason Gavin was the final player remaining and took home the WSOP seat in Las Vegas!

Ignite offers a comprehensive continuum of services to young people between the ages of 14 to 24 who are unstably housed or experiencing homelessness. Beyond meeting youth’s immediate needs, our services provide youth with all the tools and support they need to succeed: stable housing; access to employment and education opportunities; primary and mental health care; lasting connections with caring adults, and the skills to live a healthy and independent life. Ignite envisions a world where all young people have the support they need to be defined by their potential, not their circumstances.
